Hi there, pleasure having you on my profile. I’m Michelle, a VAT-Advisor at Archipel Tax Advice since 2021.
My academic journey started at Leiden University where I studied Tax Law and Civil Law. During my master’s I specialized in Tax Law with a focus on indirect taxation (VAT).
VAT is a European regulated tax, meaning that businesses need to take Dutch and European regulations into account. This can make it quite complex. As a VAT-expert, I’m here to help you navigate in the complicated landscape of EU VAT, assist with technical VAT-related challenges, and of course update you about recent developments within the Netherlands and European Union. In addition to my day-to-day client work, I regularly publish in professional VAT-journals, where I share insights of recent developments and/or case law and contributing to the discussions.
I really enjoy working at Archipel, because the focus is where it should be in the tax advisory practice: qualitative tax advice, visually explained and without a lot of time-consuming paperwork. Besides the quality of Archipel and the amazing young team we are working with, I’m glad I can walk to the office every day. I’ve lived my whole life in The Hague and can honestly say I’m a true “The Hague-girl” (with the corresponding accent). I couldn’t see myself moving to another Dutch city, I always enjoyed the combination of the city life and being close to the beach. In the summer you will find me there either enjoying the sun, walking the dogs or riding the Frisian Horses.
If you have any questions about your business and VAT or you would like to have a non-business related but technical session about VAT, please feel free to send me an e-mail, phone me on my number of pick a slot in my diary via the link below. I’m happy to discuss any queries and help you and your business.
